Kent Carlsen ID’d as Long Beach Man Killed in Long Beach Pedestrian Crash at McNab Avenue and Stearns Street
Long Beach, California (February 20, 2021) – Kent Carlsen, 71, of Long Beach, has been identified as the man who was hit and killed by a motorcycle on Tuesday evening in Long Beach, according to the Coroner’s Office.
The deadly pedestrian crash happened at McNab Avenue and Stearns Street at approximately 6:20 p.m. on February 16.
Carlsen was hit by the motorcycle while crossing Stearns Street in an unmarked crosswalk, the officials said.
The motorcyclist, a 23-year-old Long Beach male, was reportedly headed westbound on Stearns at a high rate of speed before striking the pedestrian at the Long Beach intersection.

Carlsen was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The rider, who remained at the scene, sustained minor injuries and was hospitalized for treatment.
Intoxication was not considered as a factor in the mishap.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
