Bakersfield, California (February 13, 2020) – One person was hurt after a suspected DUI collision that happened on Tuesday evening at an intersection in Bakersfield, according to authorities.

The accident occurred a while before 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, at Union Avenue and Brundage Lane.

As per the CHP officials, a truck was traveling down the street when it crashed into a white Chevrolet Camaro at the junction. The impact caused the Camaro to crash into a nearby third vehicle.

The Camaro driver was hospitalized with severe injuries sustained in the crash. The name of the patient and their current condition were not immediately released.

The driver of the third vehicle and the only person in the vehicle was not hurt in the crash.

The truck driver, identified as Kenneth Johnson was also taken to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Officials determined that Johnson was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The suspect was later arrested on DUI charges.

An investigation is underway.
