Kenneth Atkins Killed in Car Accident at Elkhorn Avenue and Highway 41 in Fresno

Fresno, California (September 17, 2020) – The Fresno County Coroner’s Office has disclosed the identity of a man who was killed in a head-on collision near Caruthers in Fresno County on Wednesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 6 a.m. September 16, in the area of Elkhorn Avenue and Highway 41.
A Nissan pickup truck was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 41 when it sideswiped an SUV before colliding head-on with a Hyundai.
The pickup truck caught fire after the collision.
The driver of the Hyundai, who has since been identified as Kenneth Atkins, 40, of Madera, was killed in the accident.
The pickup truck driver was also killed in the accident. His identity, however, was not immediately disclosed.
Four people in the SUV were unhurt.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
