Geyserville, California (March 25, 2019) – A woman identified as 63-year-old Karen Zimmerman was among victims taken to a hospital after being involved in a multi-vehicle collision in Geyserville Friday afternoon.

The wreck was reported at about 3:00 p.m. March 22, on Highway 101.

The collision occurred when the female driver of a blue Nissan Versa, identified as Ariana Salazar, 23, of El Monte, lost control on Highway 101 and drifted into the path of opposing traffic.  Salazar struck a 2016 Honda Civic before colliding head-on with a Toyota Tundra.

The two occupants of the Honda suffered unknown injuries following the crash. The two were attended to by the paramedics.

As per the report, Salazar was pronounced dead at the scene. Zimmerman was one of the two people in the Tundra vehicle. The other party was identified as 64-year-old Rebecca Frey from Ukiah. The two women sustained major injuries following the accident and were hospitalized at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
