Karen Lane Injured in DUI Crash on Highway 120 in Oakdale

Oakdale, California (December 9, 2020) – Karen Lane, 61, of Oakdale, has been identified as the woman who was hospitalized after an alleged DUI car crash Monday afternoon in Oakdale, according to a local news source.

The accident involving three vehicles happened at around 3:30 p.m. Monday, December 7, on Highway 120/Lon Dale Road, just west of Cleveland Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 1997 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Joel Delgadillo 20, was heading westbound on Highway 120 when it partially entered the opposite lane.

The Chevrolet’s left side hit the side mirror of a Ford pickup that was heading eastbound, driven by Curtis Paulus, 61, of Oakdale. The force of the impact shattered the mirror, and pieces of glass struck Paulus in the face.

The Chevrolet lost control and fully entered the eastbound lane, where it collided head-on with an oncoming 2013 Cadillac sedan operated by Lane.

Lane sustained was transported to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto with moderate injuries. Paulus suffered minor injuries but was not hospitalized for further treatment.

Delgadillo sustained major injuries in the accident. Authorities determined that he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the accident.

Delgadillo was transported to Doctors Medical Center for treatment before being booked into jail on suspicion of DUI causing injury and driving on a suspended or revoked license.

The accident remains under investigation.
