Napa, California (January 29, 2021) – Joshua Buensalida, 25, of Fairfield, was seriously injured Wednesday night in a traffic accident at an intersection in Napa, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

The crash, which involved two vehicles, happened at around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, at the intersection of Highway 29 and Jameson Canyon Road.

According to the CHP, Buensalida was driving a Kia on Highway 29 when he ran a red light while attempting to turn left onto Jameson Canyon.

Buensalida’s Kia then collided with a GMC that was heading northbound, driven by Felipe Arana, 54, of Napa.

Buensalida was transported to Queen of the Valley Medical Center with major injuries.

Felipe sought his own treatment. His passenger, Maria Arana, 51, of Napa, was taken to Queen of the Valley with moderate injuries.

All parties were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
