Jorge Alvarado Among 3 Persons Killed in Earlimart Car Accident on Avenue 48 and Road 160
Earlimart, California (September 23, 2020) – 4-year-old Jorge Alvarado, of McFarland, has been identified as one of the three persons who were killed in a two-vehicle accident on Monday last week in Earlimart, authorities said.
At about 3:20 p.m., on September 14, the California Highway Patrol responded to the deadly accident at the intersection of Avenue 48 and Road 160.
According to the CHP, a 2014 Nissan Sentra, driven by Paola Montez, 26, of McFarland, was driving northbound on Road 160 when, for unknown reasons, it failed to stop for a stop sign and crashed into a 2003 Toyota Tacoma.
The Tacoma, driven by Roberto Barron Vejar, 48, of Delano, was reportedly driving westbound on Avenue 48 when the accident occurred.

Jorge, Montez, and 3-month-old Dorian Alvarado, all from McFarland, succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Dorian and Jorge were passengers in Montez’s Nissan.
According to the police, the children were not properly restrained.
Vejar and his passenger, Adelmira Sanchez, 35, of Delano, were taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia with minor injuries.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
