Calaveras County, California (October 1, 2019) – A 42-year-old driver was arrested following a suspected DUI collision that left a sheriff’s deputy injured on Saturday night in Calaveras County, according to a local news source.

The wreck took place at about 10 p.m. September 28, near the Spicer Meadow Reservoir.

According to the news source, a sheriff’s deputy was responding to a report of a missing hunter near the reservoir when an oncoming car driven by John Ueda, 42, of Brentwood, crossed the centerline and collided with the patrol car.

John Ueda Arrested after Suspected DUI Collision in Calaveras County

The deputy was transported to Mark Twain Medical Center in San Andreas with unknown injuries.

Ueda was arrested on suspicion of DUI causing injury and driving with a suspended license.

The crash is under investigation.
