Jesus Mendoza ID’d as Suspect Arrested after Bakersfield Crash at Union Avenue and Brundage Lane

Bakersfield, California (January 31, 2021) – Jesus Moran Mendoza, 35, has been identified as the suspect who was arrested after a suspected DUI accident that killed two people and left two other parties seriously injured in Bakersfield, authorities said.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal three-vehicle crash occurred at about 2:17 a.m. at the intersection of Union Avenue and Brundage Lane.
The CHP said three vehicles collided at the intersection in unclear circumstances.

Sadly, two people were pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other parties were seriously injured and were taken to a hospital for treatment.
The CHP said the cause of the collision was determined to be a DUI driver. Jesus Moran Mendoza, 35, was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence causing serious bodily injury.
The crash remains under investigation.
