Jaxon Lusa Hospitalized after Multi-Vehicle Crash on Samoa Bridge near Eureka in Humboldt County
12-year-old Jaxon Lusa Injured in Humboldt County Accident on Samoa Bridge near Eureka

Humboldt County, California (March 8, 2019) – A 12-year-old was among the three people injured in a traffic accident on Tuesday evening in Humboldt County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported at about 6:00 p.m. March 5, on the western span of the Samoa Bridge east of Eureka.
Authorities said a Toyota Tacoma was traveling westbound on the bridge when the driver swerved into the path of a Chevrolet pickup. The driver of the Chevrolet was able to avoid a collision with the Tacoma. The Tacoma then collided head-on with a Volkswagen Beetle which was directly behind the Chevrolet.
12-year-old Jaxon Lusa, a passenger in the Tacoma, sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. Two other people were injured in the crash.
Police said the driver of the Tacoma may have suffered a medical condition prior to the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
