32-Year-Old Jared Intravia Killed in Lancaster Crash on Avenue E
Lancaster, California (January 16, 2019) – A man was killed in a multi-vehicle collision early Tuesday morning in Lancaster, according to a local news source.
The incident took place on Avenue E, just east of 50th Street East at about 5:45 a.m. on Tuesday, January 15.
According to the news source, a 40-year-old Brawley man was driving a 2016 Kenworth tractor pulling two trailers hauling hay and was heading west on Avenue E when he drifted on the right shoulder. The second trailer overturned in the process and large bales of hay landed on the roadways.
An eastbound Honda and three other vehicles crashed into the bales of hay.
The driver of the Honda, identified as Jared Intravia, 32, died in the accident.
One of the other drivers sustained moderate injuries while the other two and one passenger sustained minor injuries. The four were taken to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the big rig was unhurt.
The crash remains under investigation.
