Man Killed in Jamul Car Crash on Highway 94 near Vista Sage Lane
Jamul, California (August 4, 2019) – A man was killed in a head-on collision that occurred on Saturday afternoon near Jamul, according to the CHP.
The wreck happened at about 1 p.m. August 3, on Highway 94 west of Vista Sage Lane.
CHP said a 2006 Toyota was traveling eastbound on the highway when it crashed into the guardrail for unknown reasons. The vehicle then collided head-on with a westbound 2004 Ford Expedition.
The force of the crash caused the Toyota to roll over and burst into flames.
Driver Dies in Jamul Car Crash, August 3
The driver of the Toyota was pronounced deceased at the scene. His identity was not immediately released.
The driver of the Ford, a 32-year-old Spring Valley man, was pulled out of the wreckage by the emergency crews and rushed to Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, where he was pronounced deceased.
The CHP is investigating the crash.
