Man Killed in Jamul Bicycle Accident at Lyons Valley Road and Monterey Crest Drive
Jamul, California (June 4, 2021) – A bicyclist died after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday evening at an intersection in Jamul, authorities said.
The deadly bicycle accident happened at about 7:17 p.m. Wednesday, June 2, at the intersection of Lyons Valley Road and Monterey Crest Drive.
According to the authorities, a suspected homeless man, about 30 to 35-year-old, was riding his bicycle on Monterey Crest Drive when he failed to stop at the intersection with Lyons Valley Road and was struck by a westbound SUV.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
Further details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
