James Prange ID’d as Man Killed in Borrego Springs Car Accident on Borrego Springs Road near Highway 78
Borrego Springs, California (September 11, 2020) – Authorities have identified the man who died in a traffic accident last week Thursday in Borrego Springs as James Edward Prange, 52, of San Diego.
The deadly crash happened at around 4:11 p.m. Thursday, September 3, on Borrego Springs Road, just north of State Route 78.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2006 Ford F-150, driven by Prange, was heading southbound on Borrego Springs Road when, for undetermined reasons, it drifted across the northbound lanes and off the eastern edge of Borrego Springs Road.
The Ford then struck a signpost and overturned multiple times before it landed on its passenger side.

Prange was pronounced dead at the scene at about 4:23 p.m.
Further details about the accident were not immediately available.
The CHP is investigating the crash.
