James Nix ID’d as Man Killed in Denair Car Accident on Keyes Road near Swanson Road

Denair, California (August 15, 2020) – The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who died in a single-vehicle accident early Thursday morning in Denair as James Nix, 29, of Turlock.
At around 4:15 a.m. Thursday, August 13, the California Highway Patrol officers received a report about the crash on Keyes Road, near Swanson Road.
According to the CHP, a 1997 Honda coupe, driven by Nix, was heading westbound on Keyes Road at an unknown speed when, for undetermined reasons, it veered to the left and traveled across the eastbound lane.
The Honda continued onto the south shoulder and crashed into a concrete irrigation box.

Nix was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, authorities said.
It’s undetermined whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
