Citrus Heights, California (January 22, 2020) – 47-year-old James Russell Frierson has been identified as the pedestrian killed in a traffic collision early Saturday morning in Citrus Heights, according to authorities.

The crash happened a while after 2:00 a.m. January 18, on Interstate 80 Freeway near the Antelope weigh stations.

As per the CHP officials, an initial three-car crash occurred in the area. All the three drivers involved pulled over after the accident. Frierson, an involved driver exited his car and walked in the slow lane where he was hit by two other vehicles, a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox and a 2013 Toyota FJ Cruiser.

Another motorist hit Frierson a second time.

The two drivers involved remained at the scene and cooperated with officials.

An investigation is underway.
