Jacob Rush Arrested For DUI after Crash that Injured Passenger in Santa Cruz County
Woman Seriously Injured in Santa Cruz County Accident on Highway 17 near Glenwood Drive

Santa Cruz County, California (November 19, 2020) – Jacob Rush, 25, was arrested after an alleged DUI crash that left his passenger seriously injured Saturday night in Santa Cruz County, according to a local news source.
The accident happened at around 10:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14, on Highway 17, just south of Glenwood Drive.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Jacob Rush, 25, of Aptos was driving a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound on Highway 17 when he made an unsafe turn that caused the vehicle to slam into the west embankment.
Due to the impact, the vehicle rolled over several times and came to rest in the No. 2 lane.
Rush and his passenger, a 24-year-old Santa Cruz woman, sustained major injuries as a result of the crash. Both were transported to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for treatment.
Authorities later determined that Rush was under the influence at the time of the accident. He was eventually arrested on suspicion of DUI.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
