Jacob Echegoyen ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Victorville Crash on Highway 395 near Bear Valley Road and La Mesa Road
Victorville, California (June 24, 2020) – The San Bernardino County Coroner’s office has identified the motorcyclist who died in a traffic accident Friday evening in Victorville as Jacob Echegoyen, 25, of Victorville.
At about 5:30 p.m., on June 19, the officials responded to the fatal crash on Highway 395 between Bear Valley Road and La Mesa Road.
The police said a white-colored truck with an attached trailer hauling party equipment was traveling northbound on Highway 395.
The truck then made a U-turn to head southbound on Highway 395 to avoid heavy traffic from a previous non-injury crash.
A white Honda Interceptor motorcycle, operated by Echegoyen, was also traveling northbound on the roadway. The motorcyclist struck the side of the pickup truck as the truck was completing the U-turn.
Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Highway 395 in Victorville
Echegoyen was pronounced dead at the scene at around 5:40 p.m.
The truck driver was uninjured in the mishap.
Following the accident, the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 395 were closed as authorities investigated the scene. As of 10:00 p.m., Highway 395 was reopened.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
