Isleton, CA: CHP Investigating Serious Injury Collision on Highway 12 and Highway 160

Isleton, California (May 9, 2021) – At least one person sustained major injuries when two vehicles collided Saturday night in Isleton, the California Highway Patrol said.

Authorities received reports about the accident at around 11:28 p.m. on eastbound Highway 12 near Highway 160 and just east of the Rio Vista Bridge.

The vehicles collided, possibly head-on, for unknown reasons, blocking the roadway.

Firefighters responded to the scene to help the motorists.

At least one person sustained severe injuries in the collision. The patient was hospitalized in an unknown condition.

Caltrans was requested to respond with absorbent to clean an unknown fluid that leaked onto the roadway.

The Rio Vista Bridge was closed in both directions for about an hour and a half following the accident.
