Isaac Orton Struck, Killed by Vehicle on Interstate 880 in Oakland
Isaac Orton ID’d as Man Killed in Oakland Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 880 near Interstate 80

Oakland, California (September 15, 2020) – Authorities have identified the man who died after being struck by a vehicle Monday night in Oakland as Isaac Orton, 31, of Berkeley.
The deadly accident took place just before 7:36 p.m.Monday, September 14 in the northbound lanes of Interstate 880, just south of Interstate 80.
The California Highway Patrol said Orton was attempting to run across all lanes of the freeway from the center divider when he was struck by a Toyota Prius.
Deadly Oakland Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving Pedestrian
Paramedics responded to the scene and performed CPR on Orton. Despite life-saving measures, Orton did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver involved stopped at the scene and cooperated with the police.
All lanes of Interstate 880 North were blocked at the Grand Avenue off-ramp following the crash. Motorists were being diverted to the 7th Street exit ramp.
As of 9:15 p.m., all lanes were reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
