Ingrid Zelaya Identified as 1 of 3 Victims Injured in Fairfield Car Accident on Interstate 80 at East Midway Road
Fairfield, California (September 9, 2020) – Ingrid Zelaya, 29, of San Rafael, has been identified as one of the three persons who were injured in a multi-vehicle accident that killed a man on Monday morning in Fairfield, authorities said.
At about 2:35 a.m., on September 7, the California Highway Patrol responded to the deadly accident along westbound Interstate 80 at East Midway Road.
The CHP said a blue Audi collided with a white BMW, driven by Nicholas Nguyen, 16, of Suisun City, in unclear circumstances.
Both drivers then got out of their vehicles to exchange information when a Toyota Camry, driven by Zelaya, struck Nguyen’s BMW, the officials said
Moments later, a gray Honda Civic reportedly hit Zelaya’s Toyota.
Nguyen was pinned against the center median by one of the vehicles.

Nguyen was pronounced dead at the scene.
Zelaya sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
The other two drivers were also hospitalized with minor injuries.
Traffic on the roadway was blocked for several hours due to the accident.
