Imperial County, California (March 30, 2021) – At least one person sustained major injuries following a traffic accident that happened Tuesday morning in Imperial County, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The major injury traffic collision occurred at around 7:36 a.m. on Rutherford at Hastain Road, the CHP report states.
According to the CHP report, a white GMC Sierra and another vehicle were involved in the crash. Details on what led up to the collision at this time are unknown.
After the crash, one of the involved vehicles ended up halfway into a nearby canal.
Major Injury Traffic Collision in Imperial County
Medical personnel responded to the scene and took at least one patient to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. The name and current condition of the victim were not disclosed.
The GMC sustained front-end damage following the collision. Both wrecked vehicles were towed from the scene of the crash, the CHP said.
