Ignacio Vargas ID’d as Compton Man Killed in Gardena Pedestrian Accident on 130th Street near Normandie Avenue
Gardena, California (January 10, 2021) – Ignacio Vargas, 59, of Compton, has been identified as the man who was hit and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Friday evening in Gardena, the coroner’s office said.
The deadly pedestrian accident happened at about 5:55 p.m., on January 8, in the 1400 block of 130th Street near Normandie Avenue.
According to the police, Vargas was struck and run over by a vehicle on the roadway for undetermined reasons.

Sadly, Vargas was pronounced dead at the scene.
The involved driver fled the scene and is being sought by the police.
Police did not have any description of the suspect’s vehicle and asked anyone who witnessed the crash to call Investigator Jose Zamudio at 310-217-6189.
The crash remains under investigation.
