Huntington Beach, California (April 26, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a fatal car collision that happened early Monday morning in Huntington Beach.

The California Highway Patrol said the wreck took place at about 1:18 a.m. on northbound 405 Freeway at Beach Boulevard.

As per the report, two vehicles collided under unclear circumstances.

At least one person suffered major injuries and died in the accident.

The report also said that a second traffic collision happened at the same scene involving three vehicles resulting in property damage only.

The collisions prompted the closure of northbound lanes at Newland Street for an unknown duration.

CHP is investigating the incidents.
