Hollister, California (June 9, 2021) – At least one person is nursing serious injuries sustained in a Tuesday afternoon traffic collision that happened near an intersection in Hollister, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The wreck transpired at about 12:41 p.m. near Fairview Road and Rosa Morada Road.

Two vehicles were involved in the accident, one of them ending up in a ditch.

An off-duty police officer and an off-duty firefighter were at the scene of the crash and advised that a female occupant of a blue vehicle was still inside the car and that the other vehicle had airbags deployed.

Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene to find one of the cars with heavy traffic damage and an occupant still in the vehicle with injuries.

The report said at least one person suffered major injuries in the collision.

The crash left both northbound and southbound lanes of Fairview Road closed for an unknown duration.

CHP is investigating the incident.
