Heitor Carreiro Dies, Terrell Richardson Surrenders after Richmond Pedestrian Accident on Coalinga Avenue

Heitor Carreiro Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Richmond

Richmond, California (February 12, 2020)  Authorities are investigating a deadly hit-and-run pedestrian crash that led to the death of Heitor Carreiro, 4, in Richmond, Contra Costa County.

The deadly collision occurred at around 5:00 p.m. February 7, in the 2200 block of Coalinga Avenue.

As per the CHP officials, Carreiro was struck by an SUV driven by 26-year-old Terrell O. Richardson. The boy was standing with his father, who was unloading groceries near their home in the 2200 block of Coalinga Avenue, at the time of the crash.

Heitor Carreiro Hit and Killed by Hit-and-Run Driver 

Responding firefighters airlifted Carreiro to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital where he died while receiving treatment.

Officials confirmed that Richardson initially took off after the crash but he later turned himself in at the Richmond Police Department.

Mr. Richardson is facing multiple felony charges.

An investigation into this crash is underway.
