Heather Maciel Identified as Woman Killed in Tulare Bicycle Accident at Blackstone Street and Prosperity Avenue

Tulare, California (June 1, 2020) – Heather Maciel, 44, has been identified as the woman who was killed in a bicycle accident on Friday night in Tulare, police said.
The crash happened at around 7 p.m., on May 29, at Blackstone Street and Prosperity Avenue.
Barry Tarrell Dantzler, 30, accused of killing a woman, was spotted at a Motel 6 in Tulare, and the police tried to pull him over.
The authorities said Dantzler drove off, and the police began a pursuit to apprehend the suspect.
After a short chase, Dantzler lost control of his vehicle and struck a utility pole, causing his car to flip over several times and ended up hitting Maciel, who was cycling her bicycle on the roadway, the police said.

Sadly, Maciel was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the collision, Dantzler fled the scene on foot but was located and arrested.
More details about the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
