Hayward, California (January 5, 2019) – At least one person was injured after a multi-vehicle collision Friday afternoon in Hayward, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at around 4:21 p.m. Friday, on eastbound Highway 92 and northbound 880 Freeway connector.

As per the CHP officials, five vehicles including a white Toyota sedan crashed for unknown reasons.

An ambulance was sent to the scene to attend to at least one person who complained of pain as a result of the accident. The name of the victim and their current condition remained unknown.

The vehicles were blocking lane 1 and 2 following the collision. All lanes were opened as of  5:21 p.m.

The sedan sustained significant front-end damage following the accident.

Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles from the crash site.
