Hae Choe ID’d as Bicyclist Killed in Santa Clara Crash on El Camino Real near Kiely Boulevard

Santa Clara, California (November 8, 2020) – The Santa Clara County coroner’s office has identified the elderly bicyclist who died in a traffic accident Thursday afternoon in Santa Clara as Hae Sook Choe, 84, of Santa Clara.
The deadly accident happened just before 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 5, on El Camino Real near Kiely Boulevard.
According to the authorities, Choe was riding her bicycle westbound in the eastbound lanes of El Camino Real when she collided with a red 2010 Ford Ranger turning onto the roadway from an adjacent parking lot.

Choe sustained major injuries and was taken to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
The involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the accident.
An investigation into the collision is underway.
