13-Year-Old Boy Seriously Hurt in Glendale DUI Pedestrian Accident at 2801 Verdugo Road

Glendale, California (August 25, 2019) – A 13-year-old boy was transported to the hospital after being involved in a traffic collision in the area of Glendale on Saturday night.
The pedestrian crash occurred at around 7:53 p.m. August 24, in the park at 2801 N. Verdugo Road.
As per the report, the boy was struck by a 2009 Subaru BRZ sports car driven by 63-year-old Christopher Carone while walking in a marked crosswalk in Glendale’s Glorietta Park. The initial report indicated that the driver of the Subaru failed to stop in the marked crosswalk at the time of the collision.
Christopher Carone Arrested for Glendale DUI Pedestrian Crash
The teen sustained major injuries in the crash. He was offered first aid treatment by Glendale firefighters and then rushed to a hospital where he was listed in critical but stable condition.
Police affirmed that Carone, a Glendale resident, was intoxicated at the time of the collision. He was arrested for suspicion of Felony DUI causing great bodily injury.
The investigation is underway.
