Sunnyvale, California (August 30, 2020) – A 13-year-old girl was killed in an alleged DUI crash on Sunday morning in Sunnyvale, police said

The deadly accident transpired at about 1:50 a.m. on Central Expressway between Mary and Bernardo avenues.

The authorities arrived at the scene and found a car, driven by Bryan Gonzalez-Lopez, 18, heavily damaged in the expressway’s eastbound lanes. The manner at which the crash occurred is yet to be established.

The 13-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene. She was a passenger in Lopez’s car.

Lopez was arrested and booked into the county jail on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter.
