Victim Killed in Willowbrook Car Accident on 105 Freeway Crash near Alameda Street ID’d as Gerson Jimenez
Truckee, California (April 17, 2021) – The Whittier victim who died following a traffic collision in Willowbrook Thursday morning has been identified by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office as 38-year-old Gerson Jimenez.
The fatal crash took place at approximately 12:55 a.m., April 15, on the westbound Century (105) Freeway just west of Alameda Street.
As per the California Highway Patrol report, a 2005 Toyota driven by Jimenez in the westbound carpool lane crashed for unknown reasons and stopped in the HOV lane. Jimenez’s vehicle was then hit by a 2006 BMW in the morning hours.
The BMW also slammed into a 2016 Toyota that was traveling westbound in the No. 2 lane.
Sadly, Gerson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, the BMW operator sustained minor injuries while three other victims riding in the 2016 Toyota survived with minor injuries following the mishap.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
