George Cajias ID’d as Richmond Man Killed in Interstate 580 Accident near Eden Canyon Road in Alameda County

Alameda County, California (October 12, 2020) – The man who died in a traffic accident Thursday evening in Alameda County has been identified as George Cajias, 67, of Richmond.
The deadly accident happened at about 5:52 p.m. Thursday, October 8, on Interstate Highway 580, just east of Eden Canyon Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, several vehicles collided on westbound Interstate Highway 580 for unknown reasons.

One of the parties involved, now identified as Cajias, was declared dead at the scene.
Traffic on the roadway was stopped due to the accident, and as of 8:00 p.m., all lanes were reopened.
More details about the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
