Gardena, California (May 16, 2021) – One person was hospitalized with serious injuries after a car collision that happened Sunday morning on a freeway in Gardena.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident involved two vehicles and occurred at about 5:20 a.m. on southbound 110 Freeway, just south of Redondo Beach Boulevard.

Reportedly, one vehicle was stalled in traffic lanes and was struck by the other.

The driver of the car that was stalled was unresponsive.

Both vehicles were blocking traffic lanes after the collision.

The report said one person sustained severe injuries in the crash and was transported to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center for treatment.

The collision left all lanes of southbound 110 Freeway, and the Redondo Beach Boulevard on-ramp closed for an unknown duration.

CHP is investigating the wreck.
