Boy Injured in Garden Grove Scooter Crash at Gilbert Street and Maureen Drive
Garden Grove, California (May 2, 2019) – A boy riding a scooter was struck and injured by a vehicle at an intersection in Garden Grove on Wednesday evening, according to the authorities.
The incident happened at Gilbert Street and Maureen Drive at about 7:30 p.m. May 1.
Police said a boy aged approximately 13 years was riding a scooter westbound across Gilbert Street when he was hit by a vehicle traveling south. The boy reportedly had earphones on at the time of the accident.

The rider was rushed to a hospital with critical injuries.
The driver of the vehicle involved stayed at the scene and reportedly cooperated with the police.
Police said intoxication was unlikely a factor in the crash.
The incident is under investigation.
