Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle at Shaw and Cedar Avenues in Fresno

Fresno, California (January 20, 2020) – According to the California Highway Patrol, a 57-year-old female party was killed in a pedestrian collision that happened in Fresno on Friday night.
Officials said the pedestrian accident took place at the intersection of Shaw and Cedar avenues at about 8:30 p.m. January 17.
The CHP said the accident involved the female pedestrian and a vehicle of unspecified built traveling eastbound on Shaw Avenue.
The primary report showed that the woman was crossing the street to Mcdonald’s to buy food for her elderly son at the time of the collision. The victim was sent off into the middle lane upon the impact, where she was hit by another vehicle.

The unidentified pedestrian died in the accident.
Meanwhile, the operator of the second vehicle did not stop after the wreck. Police affirmed that the first driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The crash resulted in the closure of Shaw Avenue next to Cedar Avenue for an unknown time.
The fatal accident remains under an active investigation.
