Fresno, California (January 23, 2021) – Two men, both 26-year-olds from Kingsburg, were injured in a suspected DUI accident on Saturday morning in Fresno, authorities said.

The major injury single-vehicle accident happened at about 12:30 a.m. on southbound Highway 41 off-ramp to McKinley Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2013 Chevrolet Sonic that ran off the road went airborne and then rolled several times.

Both the driver and the passenger were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. They were seriously injured and were taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Alcohol was suspected of having played a role in the crash. One person was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI causing injury, the CHP said.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
