Two Injured in Fresno DUI Crash on First Avenue near Shaw Avenue

Fresno, California (January 22, 2019) – Two people were injured in suspected DUI hit-and-run accidents on Monday morning in northeast Fresno, according to the Fresno police.
The first crash happened at the intersection of First and Gettysburg Avenues at about 10:20 a.m. January 21, and the second occurred approximately 10 minutes later at the intersection of First and Shaw Avenues.
Police said a suspected drunk driver was traveling northbound on First Avenue when he struck a moving car at the intersection of Gettysburg. The driver continued traveling northbound and struck a traffic light pole and hit three more cars waiting at a light at the intersection of Shaw Avenue.
Two drivers were transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
The suspect was taken into custody on charges of Hit-and-run and DUI.
Fresno police are investigating the incident.
