5 Injured in Boyle Heights Truck Accident on Olympic Boulevard near Evergreen Road

Boyle Heights, California (January 22, 2019) – Five people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision that occurred Monday morning in Boyle Heights, a local news source reported.
As per the report, the accident happened at about 10:12 a.m. Monday, January 21 at 3040 East Olympic Boulevard in the area of Dacotah Street and Evergreen Avenue.
Authorities said a box truck collided with two sedans on Olympic Boulevard. Although the events preceding the collision were not immediately established, the truck is reported to have overturned after the impact.
Emergency responders extricated two people, one from the truck and another from the car, who were trapped in the wreckage.
A total of five people were injured in the collision. One of the freed occupants was taken to a hospital where they were listed in critical condition.
Two people sustained minor injuries and refused transportation to the hospital. The names of the patients and their condition at this time were not immediately released.
No other information regarding the crash was provided.
