Fairfield, California (January 10, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday morning in Fairfield, according to police.

The horrific accident took place on E. Travis Boulevard between Kidder Avenue and North Texas Street.

Police said the pedestrian was hit by an unspecified vehicle for an unknown reason. The driver stopped at the scene and complied with investigators.

According to the police, the unidentified pedestrian died at the scene. The name of the victim has not been released pending identification and notification of family.

The sequences that led to the crash remains under investigation.
