Santa Maria, California (April 7, 2019) – The three people who were injured Saturday afternoon in a traffic accident that also left two others dead in Santa Maria has been identified as  Erica Kemp, 20, Mariana Silverman, 21, and Keilani Waxdeck, 20, according to authorities.

The deadly accident happened at around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, April 6 on Highway 166 near Rock Front Ranch.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 29-year-old Caliente man was driving a Honda Accord westbound on Highway 166 when as of yet to be determined reasons it crossed over the center median and struck a Nissan Sentra operated by Kemp.

The driver of the Accord and his passenger, a 29-year-old Caliente woman, were both declared deceased at the scene.

Kemp suffered minor injuries while the passengers in the Nissan, Silverman and Waxdeck, suffered major injuries in the crash.

Kemp and Silverman were transported by ground ambulance to Marian Regional Medical Center and Waxdeck was airlifted to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.

The names of the deceased victims have not been disclosed pending notification of family.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
