Bicyclist Suffers Minor Injuries in Empire Accident on I Street Near Yosemite Boulevard
Empire, California (June 4, 2021) – A bicyclist was hurt following a suspected hit-and-run collision in Empire Wednesday evening, the California Highway Patrol said.
The CHP said the bicycle accident happened on I Street near Yosemite Boulevard at approximately 6:35 p.m. on June 2.
A child riding a bicycle on the highway was reportedly hit by a vehicle whose driver fled the scene after the crash.
Officials said the accident took place near the Empire Elementary School and Teel Middle School.

The unidentified bicyclist sustained minor injuries following the collision.
The CHP later found the suspect’s automobile near the Fruit Yard restaurant.
Additionally, the crash resulted in the closure of a portion of I Street for an unknown time.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
