Emily Henz Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on Paskenta Road in Red Bluff
Emily Henz ID’d as Teen Killed in Paskenta Road Car Accident near Rancho Tehama Road in Red Bluff
Red Bluff, California (June 4, 2020) – The teen who died along with another person in a traffic accident Monday evening in Red Bluff has been identified as Emily Henz, 13, of Elk Grove.
The deadly accident happened at around 4:27 p.m. Monday, June 1, on Paskenta Road, just south of Rancho Tehama Road.
Authorities said a 2001 Honda Civic, which was reported stolen from a residence on Humboldt Drive in Rancho Tehama, was heading southbound on Paskenta Road at a high rate of speed when it veered into the northbound lane and skidded sideways directly in the path of an oncoming 2003 Ford E250 utility van, driven by an unidentified man.
The Ford ultimately crashed into the passenger side of the Honda. The force of the impact split the Honda nearly in half.

Henz, who was riding as a passenger in the Honda, was killed in the crash. The driver of the Honda, a 26-year-old Elk Grove man, also died in the accident.
Witnesses told the authorities that the Ford driver exited the vehicle after the accident and fled the scene in a white Honda before the emergency crews arrived. The white Honda was occupied by a driver and one passenger.
