Upland, California (April 3, 2021) – The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner has identified the pedestrian who died after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night in Upland as Emilas Acosta-Montoya,  72, of Bellflower.

The deadly accident was reported at around 8:36 a.m. on the eastbound  210 Freeway, just east of the Euclid Avenue overpass.

Authorities said Acosta-Montoya was reportedly hit by a vehicle in the eastbound lane of the freeway.

Pedestrian Hit and Killed by Car in Upland

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and declared Acosta-Montoya dead at the scene at 8:49 a.m.

Further details regarding the collision were not immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
