Elkhorn, California (June 3, 2019) – A motorcycle rider was critically hurt in a traffic crash that involved a Volkswagen in Elkhorn Sunday night, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch.

The motorcycle crash occurred at approximately 8:39 p.m. June 2, in the area of Castroville Boulevard and Archer Road, near Manzanita County Park.

The CHP report showed that the collision involved a Volkswagen Jetta and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle which collided at the intersection reasons still under investigation.

The motorcyclist sustained significant injuries as a result of the accident. The victim was attended to by the paramedics who arrived at the scene shortly after the collision. The injured party was then taken to the hospital for further treatment and evaluation. The identity and the current condition of the patient are not known to this time.

The car sustained significant damage while the bike was found down in the roadway with major damage as a result of the crash.

The investigators are still identifying the leading cause of the collision.
