Woman Killed in El Grove Pedestrian Accident on Highway 99 near Laguna Boulevard

Elk Grove, California (January 7, 2020) – A woman was killed after a pedestrian collision late Sunday night in the area of Elk Grove, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly collision took place on southbound Highway 99 near Laguna Boulevard a while after 10:30 p.m. Sunday, January 5.
As per the CHP officials, three vehicles including a Toyota Prius were involved in a non-injury collision on southbound Highway 99. As a result of the crash, the Prius sustained major front-end damage and drove for nearly half a mile before it became disabled in the median.
The Toyota driver, a 20-year-old woman from Sacramento, exited the car, climbed over the median and crossed the northbound traffic. A northbound Honda Civic driven by a 29-year-old Sacramento man then hit the woman.

The woman suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead at the crash site. Her name was not immediately released awaiting notification of next of kin.
The Honda Civic driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officials.
An investigation is ongoing.
