Elk Grove, California (May 17, 2021) – At least one person was injured Friday night in an alleged hit-and-run crash in Elk Grove, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The accident happened just after 8:20 p.m. Friday, May 14, on State Route 99 at Laguna Boulevard. State Route 99 is also known as Golden State Highway.

According to the CHP, a Nissan minivan collided with a white pickup truck on the northbound lane of State Route 99.

A red Ford Mustang stopped near the crash site, but its role in the crash remained unclear.

Paramedics responded to the scene and provided medical to the parties involved. The medics determined that at least one person suffered injuries following the wreck.

One of the drivers fled the area. There were no descriptions of the suspect’s vehicle or driver.

The accident remains under investigation.
