Driver Killed in El Cajon Crash at Main Street and Avocado Boulevard
El Cajon, California (May 1, 2021) – One person was killed in a Saturday morning traffic accident in El Cajon, authorities said.
The deadly accident occurred at about 7:30 a.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Avocado Boulevard.
According to the police, a gray Volkswagen Beetle was headed westbound on Main Street when it allegedly run a red light and crashed into a Nissan.
The Nissan was reportedly traveling southbound on Avocado Boulevard when the collision occurred.
Following the collision, the Volkswagen driver was ejected onto the street, while the Nissan crashed into a power box attached to a restaurant.

Sadly, the driver of the Volkswagen driver died at the hospital.
The Nissan driver was hospitalized with minor injuries.
It was not clear if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
