Ontario, California (July 6, 2021) – The fruit vendor who died in an auto-pedestrian collision in Ontario on Monday morning has been identified as Eduardo Rabinal, 32, according to a local news source.

The deadly collision happened at Euclid Avenue and Riverside Drive at about 11:15 a.m. Monday, July 5.

Police said Rabinal and a second fruit vendor were walking north across Riverside Drive with their cart when a vehicle struck them.

The vehicle was being driven by Jessica Dewet, 43, of Chino.

Eduardo Rabinal Fruit Vendor Killed in Ontario Pedestrian Crash

Rabinal was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The second victim, identified as Nilson Ariel Tucabal, 20, was hospitalized in critical condition.

Dewet was hospitalized with minor injuries and arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and gross vehicular manslaughter.

Police are investigating the crash.
