Eduardo Avila Injured in Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 74 in Meadowbrook
Eduardo Avila ID’d as 19-Year-Old Man Seriously Injured in Meadowbrook Car Accident on Highway 74 near Ethanac Road

Meadowbrook, California (April 29, 2021) – Eduardo Avila, 19, of Perris, has been identified as the man who was seriously injured in a multi-vehicle accident that killed another man on Tuesday evening in Meadowbrook, the CHP said.
The accident happened at about 4 p.m. on April 27, on Highway 74 near Ethanac Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 26-year-old man Nieto Ruiz, of Fallbrook, was driving his 2017 Honda Civic westbound on the highway approaching the Guadalupana Produce Market when the collision occurred.
Shaunice Denton, 28, of Moreno Valley, reportedly exited the market parking lot in her 2018 Mercedes-Benz Metris van without noticing a Toyota Camry headed toward her as she attempted to enter the eastbound lane.
The Toyota veered to the left in an attempt to avoid the Mercedes. Unfortunately, the two vehicles collided in the eastbound traffic lane.
Following the collision, Toyota continued to the left before colliding head-on with the Honda in the westbound lane.
Eduardo Avila Injured in Meadowbrook Car Accident
Ruiz was pronounced dead at the scene by the Riverside County Fire Department crews who responded to the crash.
Avila sustained major injuries and was taken to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley, where he remains in serious but stable condition.
Denton was not injured in the accident.
Both directions of the highway were closed for about three hours as the scene was examined and cleared.
The crash remains under investigation.
